"Steve Rea is looking for reinstatement into the ROTHC league. I have had several discussions with Steve about on ice discipline and believe he can return to being a responsible teammate, he is aware of his circumstances and wants the league to know he accepted a fairly severe suspension as part of the consequences of his actions. His statement to the ROTHC League is: 'I know that another stupid act will result in a lifetime suspension.'"

In reviewing the application there was a majority opinion that Steve Rea should be given a chance to prove himself reformed, however, some were of the opinion that Steve Rea's brief statement did not express remorse or an adequate promise not to reoffend.

Nevertheless, the consensus of the Committtee was to allow Mr Rea to return to the league with the expectation that he will control his emotions and no further incidents of this nature will occur. Should he receive a Major Penalty or Game Misconduct, he will be immediately removed from the League without hearing for an indefinite period of time.
